New Look Pure Colour Nail Polish in Sweet Rose

Hello!

Firstly before I begin my proper review I'd like to point out that this polish is an absolute perfect dupe for Ciate's Antique Brooch (and Maybelline Brocade Knitted Gold) - thank you New Look! Antique Gold by Ciate is something I've wanted for so long, so I was thrilled to see this when I popped into New Look recently!

The polish is a gold shimmer base with pink glitter over the top. It's so gorgeous and glittery, some serious sparkle is packed into this little bottle! It's the kind of polish you can't stop looking at, especially in the light! I found it was opaque in 2 coats.

The packaging is your pretty bog-standard nail polish bottle, although there is something about it I like. I think it's the simpleness, a nice rounded clear bottle with a smart black lid. The applicator is perfect, in my opinion. It allowed me to apply the nail polish perfectly, it's one of the best sized applicators I've used.

Drying time feels rather long, and it remains pretty tacky for ages. I knocked it a few times and it smudged, but I just dabbed it back over and you couldn't tell the difference as there is just so many glitter particles! I added a couple of layers of topcoat to smooth it out.

The one downside I've found with this polish is that is doesn't last long at all, and it peels off! Although I do work in a garden center, which is a lot more hands-on you're-probably-going-to-break-a-nail type job anyway.

Overall, I'm pretty impressed with New Look's polish, I really want to try out more colours and different products.

Rimmel Lasting Finish 1000 Kisses Lipliner in Tiramisu

Hello!

I did only blog about nude lips the other day with my Kylie Jenner inspired post, but I couldn't resist blogging about my recent nude lip find, the Rimmel Lasting Finish 1000 Kisses lipliner in Tiramisu!

I literally picked this up on a whim as I fancied treating myself to another lip product, and these lovelies are only £2.99! I wasn't really sure what to expect as I swatched it in store, saw that it was a brown-nude and just bought it anyway. After some mild spending guilt and repeating "oh gosh why I have a bought a brown lipliner" for about an hour, I finally got to test it out for real and to give it away, I fell in love.

It's my perfect brown nude. Not too brown, just perfect. I don't think it's a colour for everyone, but I think it's great for people with olive skin-tones and darker skin-tones. I am pale, but I am olive-skinned hence why I think it suits me!

The pencil is super easy to apply, however the formula is pretty drying. I like this colour all over my lips as I don't actually have a brown lipstick, but as long as I lip-balm before and after, all is fine!

Overall, I love this lipliner. The shade is a gorgeous everyday colour and makes a change from my usual colours. It's also fun to layer colours over the top, such as orange!

Have you tried any colours from this range?

My Everyday Face

Hello!

I thought I'd do an everyday face post. Before I get into the deets, I will say that this is a small selection of products that I've been using recently... this is definitely not my full face! I will eventually do a full face post, but I thought I'd just show the main parts of my makeup bag. I'm still not using foundation if I can get away with it too!

My current base favourites are Maybelline Baby Skin, Collection Lasting Perfection concealer and Benefit Lemonaid. I love using Baby Skin to create a silky smooth base, it helps my makeup glide and blend with ease. Collections concealer is my dream concealer, I can't imagine using anything else - it pretty much covers everything! I've been using Benefits Lemonaid for years, I use it to conceal my discoloured red eyelids, it works wonders. Nothing else is like it!

My forever repurchased face powder, Rimmel Stay Matte! It's all you need in a powder. I like to highlight using MUA's Undress Your Skin highlighter, it's lovely and natural and blends so easily. I've had Body Shop's Honey Bronzer since April and I've only just started to make a dent, which I'm super impressed with. It's so natural, I like to lightly contour using this.

I actually forgot to include my brow kit (bad blogger), but I've been using ELF's brow kit in dark for months and it's just perfect! For my lids, I've been loving Makeup Revolutions Iconic 3 palette, which is a dupe for the Naked 3. I love the pink and gold tones of this palette, so gorgeous! Over September I've been loving my Revlon Lash Potion mascara, it's waterproof so keeps it's shape and holds all day.

For my lips I've been loving this Rimmel combo. Kate Lasting Finish lipstick in 08, and Exaggerate lipliner in Eastend Snob. It's the perfect Kylie Jenner nude, and I can't get enough!

So that's my current face! What are your current favourites?

Kylie Jenner Lips with Rimmel

Hello!

To be honest I've been all over the Kylie Jenner/nude lip trend recently. As much as I'd like to be able to have MAC and have Kylie's famous lip shades, but I can't afford them right now, plus most the nude shades are out of stock now!

I've owned this lipstick and liner for so long, probably before summer even started properly, so it's crazy how on-trend this shade seems to have got!

I'm talking about the Kate Lasting Finish lipstick in 08, and the Exaggerate lipliner in Eastend Snob - together, they create perfectly shaped pink-nude lips, with a definitely mauve running through. I am literally obsessed with this colour right now.

The lipliner is matte and can be quite drying on my lips, but with correctly prepped lips (i.e. lip-balmed!) this doesn't affect it. I like to line and shape the outline of my lips, then lightly blend down that line into my lips. I then apply the lipstick, which is non-drying and lovely, all over my lips. Blot, then reapply!

If you want a Kylie Jenner lip and you're on a budget (or just want a non-MAC alternative) then this combination should definitely be on your list of things to check out. They're beautiful!

Eurogamer 2014!

Hello!

Over the weekend I went to London for Eurogamer 2014! It had been planned for so long and it was so exciting to finally go. I also just want to mention that the lighting in Earls Court was very dark, and tinted blue or green depending on which area we were in - sorry! *long post warning!*

We all got up at around 4am as our train was at 6am and we all had to stagger our bathroom times. I opted to just do my hair and makeup on the train as I thought it would be easier, plus kill some of the time on our 3 hour journey! I went on the train in my rollers which I still find hilarious, but no one really batted an eyelid at me. Must be normal for girls to train with rollers in!

After dumping our excess luggage off at the hotel (cough, hostel, cough), we headed out to Earls Court! I was so excited to staying in Chelsea to be honest.

The first game area we went into was the PS4 section, where you could play a sample of some new releases, including Far Cry 4 and Mortal Combat X. I didn't end up playing much because I'm used to an Xbox controller, it was kind of embarrassing not knowing the controls!

After this I can't really remember the exact order of things, so I'll go through the pictures in the order my computer puts them through!

Forza 2, in the Xbox One section!

A Super Smash Bros tournament in the Nintendo area

I met Mario & Luigi!

I'm not sure who she is or who she was meant to be, but her cosplay was literally awesome, I was taken aback by the detail!

More awesome cosplay. I recognise these guys but can't put my finger on them, if you know let me know in the comments!

Pikachu hat to match my Pokemon nails!

I played in a Destiny tournament... and won! It was pretty cool, although not knowing PS controls was really frustrating. Apparently they were giving out these collectible cards but I only got Old Russia.

The Evil Within is a horror game made by the same people that made Resident Evil. This really unimpressed me to be honest, although that could just be because of the chapter we got to play - nothing much happened.

The view of the first floor from the second floor! It was hard to capture just how big the exhibition was.
The Razer bus was another cool feature at EGX. Inside you could play on the new DayZ alpha. There were even real zombies wandering around outside the bus, I would of got a picture if they weren't so damn creepy...

Sackboy from Little Big Planet!

Had to swipe this off Snapchat, but I finally got to play the Occulus Rift!

My Pokemon nails! Featuring Mew, Dewgong, Togepi and Lunatone!

Leaving Earls Court :(

We went to Funscape after EGX for an after party. It was pretty fun with bumper cars and dance mats, I didn't end up getting any photos as my phone was dying.

I had such a good time at EGX, I'm definitely planning on going next year! Did you go?
