Makeup Revolution #liphug in Save Me From Yourself, To Get Lucky & I Am Ready

Hello!

Today I'm reviewing 3 #liphugs that I bought in my Makeup Revolution haul, a nude shade called Save Me From Yourself, a deep rose called To Get Lucky, and a red called I Am Ready. I've been wanting to try these for so long, and I'm so glad I did. At only £2.50 each, and dupes for many high-end formulas and colours, I want all 20 shades!

I really like the packaging of these, they remind me of the Bobbi Brown Creamy Lip Colour packaging, except I prefer the Makeup Revolution packaging as I love the gold inner casing. I think some of them (or all of them) have been named after songs or song lyrics, like Daft Punk's "To Get Lucky" and I recently heard the words "save me from yourself" in a song although I can't remember the artist. The one thing that does bother me, although fairly irrelevant, is the bad grammar on the labelling - as the shades are names they should start with capitals! Oh well, #grammarpolice4life. :)

The product itself is wonderful, it's very pigmented and so creamy with a hint of gloss, it applies to lips perfectly.
Save Me From Yourself is very much a caramel nude, it reminds me of my Max Factor Colour Elixir, but warmer. I read on Magpie Jasmine that this is also a perfect dupe for MAC Jubilee (lustre)!
To Get Lucky is lovely dark rose shade, it's different from a lot of shades I own which is why I love it so much, it's the colour I was hoping for when I ordered!
I Am Ready is a gorgeous, easy-to-wear day-to-day red. As Lip Hugs have a balmy texture, it gives it a more casual feel. The perfect way to rock a red lip if casual red lips make you feel a bit nervous!
I have also discovered that layering this over lip balm gives it a completely different look and feel, it's like having a 2-in-1 lipstick! A thicker more opaque lipstick option, and a sheerer glossier option.

I love these lipsticks, and I'm definitely picking some more up in the future.
Have you tried these? Would love to read some reviews!

Pinterest: 5 Interiors

Hello!

I've just started using Pinterest properly after having it for a while, so I'm definitely going to start blogging about the gorgeous pins I find. I'm seriously hooked on it already, my new favourite part of my evenings is scrolling through Pinterest, just adding to my boards.

I'd like to start a new feature where I show off 5 current favourite pins from each of my boards!

1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5

I'm in love with monochrome and gold interiors. I don't think when I get my home that I'll be able to recreate such gorgeous, modern spaces but I will definitely use these images as inspiration.

Makeup Revolution Haul

Hello!

It's been a while since I dabbled in the world of Makeup Revolution so I thought it was about time I did. Makeup Revolution have launched an insane amount of new products, from what I've noticed it's around every 2 weeks that hey launch new products, which is really quite something. I didn't go too mad, but picked up some bits which I've wanted to try for a while.

I will of course review these products but at a glance...

Pro Hygiene Anti-Bacterial Shampoo - I am yet to use this, although I am sure it will does as it says on the tin (bottle). I've been wanting a proper brush shampoo for a while and I'm glad I picked this up, especially as it's only £5!

Single Eyeshadow in Mountains of Gold - I've been wanting at least one single eyeshadow to take with me when I stay overnight anywhere as I literally only own palettes and they just aren't that great to take around as they take up so much room in my makeup bag. This shadow is a beautiful gold, very pigmented and is wonderful to apply. It lasts all day with a primer and doesn't crease. However it does have some fall-out, so when applying I just hold a tissue under my eye.

I ♥ Makeup I Am In Love palette - I've been interested in this palette for ages as I can't resist my pink shadows anymore than I can gold! To be honest, I have a few of these shades in my Iconic 3 palette, but I guess this one is a bit more travel friendly. The shadows are just as lovely as any other Makeup Revolution eyeshadow, however the lipstick is awful. A really pale pink, which just looked chalky on the lips. Plus it snapped in half just from swatching. Not the best! But still, the eyeshadows are brilliant, which is what I bought the palette for.

Lipstick in Treat - I had previously had this lipstick, however it ended up accidentally washed in the washing machine! I knew I had to replace it as it's my favourite everyday lipstick, and at £1 it's not a problem replacing!

#liphug - I bought 3 of the new Lip Hugs, but I wish I bought more. They are so easy to wear, last ages and have a fantastic velvet feel to them, yet are non-drying and don't cling to dry patches on your lips. I've also discovered that layering them over lip-balm gives them a whole new look and feel, they don't last as long but look great! I like doing this with Save Me From Yourself, it turns into the perfect nude.

I love Makeup Revolution and I'll definitely be treating myself to more later on in the year. I can't wait to see what other things they will release!

Sleek Precious Metals Highlighter Palette

Hello!

I am so happy I finally have my hands on this palette! When Sleek released it, I instantly fell in love with how gorgeous it was, but held off from purchasing it. After looking at it every time I was in Superdrug, I caved and bought it, and I'm so glad I did!

The palette is packaged in a lovely metallic silver palette with magnetic closure. making it easy to open and you know the contents inside are safe! The highlighters themselves are made up of 3 cream and 1 powder highlighter.

In usual Sleek style, these highlighters are very pigmented and a light hand is definitely needed when applying so you don't turn into a walking disco! The cream highlighters blend incredibly easily and feel velvety on the skin, and I personally like to use my fingers to blend them to give the most natural look. The powder highlight too blends easily, and I like using a light hand to set the other highlighters.

I've been using Platinum to highlight my inner eye corners and on the brow bone, and along the tops of my cheeks for when I want a more obvious highlight, but for everyday I've been using Renaissance Gold lightly (applied with a Real Techniques flat foundation brush, and blended in with my fingers) with Antique Bronze dusted lightly along the top to set/blend. I personally prefer a more gold-tone highlight, which I think will look even better once I've been away and got a tan, haha.

Overall, this is an amazing palette if you love your highlights! I am going to get a lot of use from this, yet another fantastic product from Sleek. I definitely recommend!

MAC Lustre Lipstick in Plumful

Hello!

Today I'm talking about the famous MAC Plumful lipstick! I wasn't expecting to come home with this shade, but I'm very glad I did. I can see why there's so much hype around this product.

Like all MAC lipsticks, this is packaged in one of those famous black bullets and has a lovely vanilla scent. Plumful is a sheer plum colour that I can imagine suiting pretty much everyone! Like my other lipsticks from MAC, I find this wears really well until I eat or drink, then it begins to fade. It fades very evenly, and reapplies with no problem. I am also thrilled that this applies and wears just as well as my Cremesheen finishes, meaning it feels lovely on the lips and doesn't sink into the cracks of my lips and gives them a perfected look.

This is such a beautiful shade, and I'm 100% won over by MAC lipsticks. They are definitely worth their £15.50 price tag!

MAC Cremesheen Lipstick in Fanfare

Hello!

After completely falling in love with my MAC Cremesheen lipstick in Creme In Your Coffee (see post here!) I knew I wanted to get another one. I didn't believe people when they said how addicting MAC was, but I definitely see it now. I'm sold.

I didn't really know what I wanted so I swatched a lot of different shades, before choosing Fanfare. It's a really pretty pink that has a nude feel to it, I want to say a MLBB shade but I feel like I keep saying this about pink-nude shades. From looking at swatches it's very different on different people. It looks very pink on some skin tones, and very nude on others! For me, it's the perfect easy-to-wear everyday lipstick.

Nanshy Marvel Makeup Sponge

Hello!

Exciting post today about the Nanshy Marvel 4-in-1 blending sponge*. I received this little wonder as a gift from taking part in the #BHTWITTERPARTY on Monday 12th January (which was super fun!). If you don't know, Bloggers Hub is an online members only (but it's super easy to join) world for bloggers where you can find advice and new brands to shop from and even be gifted from. It's like a gifting lounge after an event, but from your own home! The Bloggers Hub Twitter Party was so fun and such a brilliant idea for those who can't travel to actual events as you still get to meet and chat with other bloggers. The blogging community sure is a fab one!

Anyway, back to Nanshy! Nanshy offer affordable make-up brushes and sponges that are 100% cruelty free.

The sponge itself is so soft, I couldn't stop squidging it when I opened it. It has 4 features, which make for easy handling and flawless application.
Fine tip - the fine tip on the top is perfect for covering any blemishes and getting to those harder to reach areas such as corners and smaller areas.
Flat side - this flat side is perfect for the eye and nose contours
Rounded bottom - the bottom of the sponge is great for applying your foundation, and to blend around your face.
Middle - the waist of the sponge makes it very easy to hold!

The sponge is really simple to use. like other sponges, you simply wet it (then ring out til damp) and apply your makeup. It's also very easy to clean, just rinse under the tap, use beauty shampoo (or baby shampoo), towel dry, squeeze and leave to dry. Easy!

The Nanshy 4-in-1 Marvel Makeup Sponge is £5.95 - buy here

MLK Intimates

Hello!

Just before Christmas I got followed on Instagram by a new handmade lingerie company. Pretty, delicate, simple lace lingerie is my absolute favourite, and I'm so glad I followed back and placed an order! MLK Intimates sell 9 different designs, prices ranging £12.99-21.99 (for the set) and sizes from small to large, AA-DD cup.

I purchased two sets, Juliette and Delilah. Juliette is a black lace set with high-waisted briefs, with the bra having a lace waistband. Delilah is a white lace set that features elasticated bands around the waist and around the ribs.

I fell in love with my sets as soon as I opened my little parcel. The first thing that made my heart truly flutter was all the pretty delicate lace, nothing wins me over like lace does. The second thing was how well made it looks, the fact that it's all handmade baffles me. Such talent! The underwear is beautiful. The last thing that made me completely fall in love, was when I tried it on. It fits me perfectly, and looks so stunning on.

I am so impressed with my products, and the customer service and friendliness I've experienced! I'm definitely placing another order soon, I have my eye on the Grace set!
